/Signed, with the exception of the realtime part. It should be a ratio of like so many real time hours equalling so many game time hours.

If they implement D/N cycle like Neverwinter Nights system (6 real life minutes = 1 hour in-game by default) I'll be glad to sign it.

I agree with that never winter nights is a great game. the game devs should look at that game to get some great ideas.

I think it would be a pretty good idea if they actually did something besides the obvious look of day and night.

Maybe have different monster spawns roaming around at day or night.
Have a certain boss only be on the prowl during the night.
Have monsters become more/less powerful during the day or night.
Have NPCs doing different things duriing different times (may not actually do stuff but it makes the game a little bit more immersive)

Anything to make PvE a bit more compelling than it already is. I'm just hoping ANet will execute it well

/signed for a gw-time..

have to agree that it would be cool to for exemple, have the chans to go stealth with my assasin^^
and it would ad some more fun to go to all places in daylight and night...
and if they added it so that it was day/night in pvp to it would be cool to not really know were the enemy is.

we need realms for the other gods!!! And as a drop for clearing said map a mini pet of the corresponding god. ie spend 4 hours clearing the underworld, then you can fight grenth, and he could drop his mini...or for fow balthazar...etc..
also i want an emote so i can drop to the floor and walk side ways like curly from the 3 stooges.

..cos its a cool idea

..because of a somewhat obvious issue. This may have been mentioned.

1. Would it work? You actually only have about 3 or 4 european languages covered in GuildWars inside the European district. English, french, spanish and german I think.

So what about the other time zones for the countless other languages?

Plus is English considered the UK?

2. There are certain locations in Guildwars which need the whole "Night" or "Day" look to work correctly. I doubt a day-time look would work in the Fire Isles or a night time look would work in the Crystal Desert.

So it wouldnt work 100% accross the board.

Nice idea though. Plus if it did work, you could tell whether its night time and need to got to bed :P.

Thats why they would have a Set of time differing for the Guild Wars day.
And also, WAY back in the pages a person said that only towns and Explorable areas would be affected. Missions, becuase their meant to happen as certain times would be seperate. And if an event was causing a Certain town or area to be very dark (Thick Cloud Cover) then it wouldnt get lighter or darker.

With the current technology GW uses, IT IS POSSIBLE. Just look at many areas were lights and sky changed depending on where you are.

But many people play only at night or surind day, so the day-night cycle shoud be accelerated, somethng like a 'day-night' complete cylce each 2, 4, 6... ours.

And many areas should still have fixed day or night status, like cooperative missions, due to history.

I'd love to see this implemented. Would add a new depth and realism to the world.

I'd have to suggest, though, rather than following real clocks the game has it's own day system. Maybe a day would last 2 hours or something, I dunno... but it would be lame to play in the dark for 10 hours a day and would be no different from the current system for those who play at the same time everyday.

Also, the night cycle definetly wouldn't be pitch black to where you couldn't see mobs, like some people have suggested... :P Maybe more like Riverside Province mission, or a bit lighter.

i would be cool to see night and day brought into guild wars but it would complicate things cause different people are in different areas, unless gw makes their own time period, i.e. 1 min = 5 ingame mins.
